William Dunn is a California native and a graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). He joined the Los Angeles Police Department in 1990 and worked extensively in the field of street gang investigations, including a uniformed tour with a Community Resources Against Street Hoodlums (CRASH) unit.
He is a nationally recognized expert on the multi-national street gang La Mara Salvatrucha (also known as MS-13), and has participated in a number of LA's gang injunctions, most recently the law suit against the Black P-Stone Bloods. William Dunn has done training for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) regarding La Mara Salvatrucha and he is a guest lecturer with the California Gang Investigators Association and the International Latino Gang Investigators Association.
He is a frequent commentator on radio drive time shows in the Los Angeles area and is noted for his appearances on "The Bill Handle Show". He Lives in Los Angeles.
